Will have to make that listening choice after I get home from work. Very nice call on your part, though. I can barely imagine how difficult it was that night for Bob to say "The show must go on."

I'll be listening to his lovely concert w/the JGB from July 28 and 29, 1977 at the 1839 Theater in San Fran. (Pure Jerry Vol. 1)

Will probably also cue up Morning Dew from 10/12/84 at some point, and maybe Mission in the Rain from the Reflections CD.

Rest in peace, indeed.

On my PC in my cube at work as I write this, listening to Hershey Park from June 28, 1985. It's raining here in SE Michigan this morning so I wanted to start the day off with a nice version of 'Cold Rain and Snow'. I'll probably listen to SPAC next as it always get things revved up and after reading the posts from yesterday, I could use a little musical pick-me-up and SPAC always does this for me.

P.S. FYI - had to change my login name from 'rockinrob' to 'svengun' because I forgot my stupid password

I always think of this as an "end of an era" show. It caps off a legendary year and when they came back a month later, they were armed with a bunch of new tunes, a nascent version of the Wall of Sound and the full realization that Pig would not be coming back. And started an even more legendary year! It reminds me that change is the one constant in life. Plus, it has "Sing Me Back Home", which I think is an excellent choice for memorializing Jerry.
